Description
This product is a methyl methacrylate copolymer, granular in form and popular among conservators with metal objects because of its excellent adhesion to bare and painted metals. It is particularly recommended for copper, iron, tin, and aluminum. B48N has a relatively high molecular weight, rendering it more difficult to dissolve than some other Acryloid products. Butyl acetate tends to work well with it because of its high flash point and relatively low toxicity levels. It will also dissolve in Toluene and Xylene. The B48N finish offers toughness, flexibility and exterior durability and can be either air-dried or baked. It is offered in 1-lb packages.
